Geneva 2008

Story and Photos by Alessandro Gerelli

Lancia has introduced at Geneva the new Delta: it is a completely new very elegant car that will be in competition with the Germans (BMW and Audi): we need to wait for production cars to check if specifications and prices will be in line with competitors.

The new Alfa 8C spider will be produced in limited number: designed by Alfa Romeo, it looks very clean and enough aggressive.

Fioravanti presents this very nice spider based on an Alfa Romeo chassis: it looks really small and lovely and the name “Vola” (that means to fly) is really appropriate.

This version of the Maserati Quattroporte is produced in only 100 models and is called “Collezione 100”: of course the level of the details is outstanding.

The new Fiat Abarth 500 recalls my youth in year 60s and 70s when the two names Fiat and Abarth joined together, meant speed and performance

The new Maserati Granturismo S with even higher performances and finishing touches.

The Ferrari stand celebrates the World Championship of 2007 and the 40th anniversary of the Daytona.

Giugiaro celebrates his 40th anniversary with this new concept car.

Pininfarina presents this concept car called “Sintesi”: clean and smooth with the very original doors.

The traditional Pagani coupè car in a dramatic dark gold colour.

The students of the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) presented this concept car based on Maserati: it is a very small and nice car that might be an idea for a future production model.

A stunning view of the back of the Bugatti Veyron.

Fiat presented its full production range, including these small 500s for kids.

…and to close the visit to Geneva, a very original view of the Alfa 33, just to remember the sporty image of the Italian brand.
