Michael Leventhal in his 1953 340 MM Spider Vignale, Chassis# #0324 AM, at the start of the Tour of Palm Beach at The Breakers. This was originally owned and raced by William Spear, it is also ex-Edmund P. Lunken (member of the Cincinnati gang). Leventhal has owned it since June 2002.

The gorgeous 1956 250 GT LWB Zagato chassis #0515 GT owned by David Sydorick of Beverly Hills, CA. This is the first of only three such cars with the characteristic double-bubble roof, a Zagato trademark. All three cars are owned by US collectors (0537 GT by Sam Robson Walton, 0665 GT by Lee Herrington). Sydorick's 0515 GT was originally owned and raced by Vladimiro Galluzzi, photo taken at the kick-off party at Palm Beach International airport on Wednesday where Sydorick received the "La Bella Macchina" award.

The spectacular 1961 250 GT SWB Breadvan owned by Monte C. Shalett of New Orleans, LA. S/N 2819 GT is photographed here in front of Florida developer Henry Flagler's Museum in Palm Beach. This is the 100th 250 GT SWB built, out of 165 units.

250 GT LWB California Spider chassis# 1307 GT, originally owned by Prince Alvise Hercolani. Later owners included German race ace Wolfgang Seidel. This car is currently for sale by Rob Meyers of RM Auctions and is the 23rd of a total of 50 built.

The ex-Phil Hill Dino 196 SP #0790, owned since August 2002 by Charles T. Wegner IV of West Chicago, IL. Completely original and unrestored with a lovely patina and an unparalleled racing pedigree Wegner's 0790 won Best of Show at the Cavallino Classic XII (comp cars). This car is the cover car of Cavallino magazine issue #132.

Jim Fuchs of Brookfield, WI owns this gorgeous 166 MM/53 Spider Vignale with S/N 0290 M. Fanatically restored by Wayne Obry's Motion Products, Inc., of Neenah, WI, Fuchs will drive this beautiful little Spider in the 2003 Mille Miglia in May.

A rare 288 GTO (only 272 units built) leads the line-up for the Tour of Palm Beach on Thursday morning at The Breakers.

The French JMB-Giesse racing team brought one of their 333 SPs to Moroso racetrack. Who said that all Ferraris need to be red?

Former Microsoft president Jon A. Shirley owns this wonderful rare 500 Mondial Berlinetta with Pinin Farina coachwork. One of only two built, S/N 0422 MD has never been restored and spent most of its life (45 years!) unused in a discreet French collection. Shirley won the Preservation Award with this tiny little 1954 racing Berlinetta painted in French blue.

Gerry Sutterfield of Palm Beach Gardens brought 166 MM/53 Spider Vignale S/N 0342 M. It was originally sold through Luigi Chinetti and Bill Devin to Ranald McDougall, a screenplay writer for Universal Studios in Hollywood and husband of actress Nanette Fabre. In 1954 the original Vignale Spider was replaced by a custom-made US body but the original Vignale Spider body was kept and saved. Sutterfield, who owns 0342 M since April 1967, was able to buy the highly battered interim body and displayed it in Moroso together with the car.

Lawrence Stroll of London, England, owns 412 P Berlinetta #0850 since 1999. It is a former Ecurie Francorchamps car and therefore painted yellow (Belgian colors). It was formerly owned by Dean Martin Jr. who used it on the streets of Beverly Hills, and was later in the collection of P. Paul Pappalardo.

The 1958 250 TR Spider Scaglietti Pontoon Fender chassis #0748 TR owned by Ed M. Davies of Hobe Sound, FL. Original owner was Austrian jeweller Gottfried Köchert and it was later raced by Gary Laughlin, Alan Connell and the Wilson Bros. in USA.

Chassis #9007 is the first of only twelve genuine 275 GTB/Cs. Sold new on 4 May 1966 to Tullio Sergio Marchesi in Rome and successfully entered in Italy, Marchesi won the 1967 Italian GT championship with this Ferrari. It is now owned by Cavallino Holdings in Seattle, WA.

This Daytona began life as a standard production car but was soon converted for competition use by Diena & Silingardi in Modena for Luigi Chinetti's NART. S/N 12467 raced at Le Mans 1971 with Coco Chinetti and Bob Grossman, they placed 5th OA and won the index of thermal efficiency.

The Minnesota gang: A cut 275 GTB/4 plus two 250 GT SWB Berlinettas of Bob Bodin (Chassis #2291 GT) and Judson Dayton (Chassis #2083 GT).

Peter Sachs owns this fabulous 1957 type 335 S Spider with Scaglietti body. S/N 0700 was mainly raced by Peter Collins and is the actual car in which Collins and photographer Louis Klemantaski did the 1957 Mille Miglia.

The ex-NART Ferrari 512 S Spider #1006, owned by Charles Arnott of Easton, MD. Unfortunately he damaged the car's left rear in a minor accident at Moroso.

Not seen in public in the past 32 years this is the spectacular and ultrarare 1968 Ferrari 312 P Berlinetta with S/N 0872, also owned by Peter G. Sachs of Stamford, CT.

Sachs coming back into the paddock with 0872, suffering from gearbox troubles. The sister car is S/N 0870 and is owned by French collector Pierre Bardinon. Most Ferraristi consider this type to be one of the most beautiful competition Ferraris of all time and knowledgeable dealers value the two 312 P Berlinettas in the US$ 9+ Million range, although none has changed hands since several decades.

Shirley's 500 Mondial Berlinetta with Pinin Farina coachwork, S/N 0422 MD, posing at Moroso raceway. One of only two such cars, the sister car is S/N 0452 MD and is in a private Swiss collection

The 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider with Scaglietti coachwork. With S/N 0700 Phil Hill and Peter Collins won the 3 November 1957 Grand Prix of Venezuela in Caracas.

US collector Jack E. Thomas of St. Louis, MO owns this darkblue 340 America with Ghia coachwork. S/N 0148 A was sold new to Michel Paul-Cavallier of Pont-a-Mousson, France. It was never raced and spent most of its life in a French museum. Restored in Italy by Mario Galbiati and owned by Thomas since August 2001.

Jon Shirley owns the 250 TR Spider Scaglietti with S/N 0666 TR. This is the prototype Testa Rossa which was based on an envelope-bodied 290 MM chassis with transverse leaf, De Dion rear suspension and RHD. 0666 TR has been rebodied twice by Carrozzeria Scaglietti in Modena.

Who said that Ferrari built only red F50s? This is one of very few silver F50s, the name of the color is actually Argento Nürburgring (Nürburgring Silver). Photographed at 6 a.m. in the morning in front of The Breakers hotel at Palm Beach.

S/N 1015 SA is a 410 Superamerica. The first of the Series III and the 24th type 410 Superamerica built. Shown in October 1958 at the Paris motor show in white color and after a repaint into dark blue color shown again in November 1958 at the Torino motor show. Brought to Palm Beach by Bill Kontes and owned by Sam Robson Walton of Wal-Mart fame.

Lee Herrington's highly unusual 212 Inter Coupé Ghia S/N 0191 EL, formerly owned by President Juan Peron of Argentina, won the price for the best restoration. This car's body was restored by Jakob Kläger in Gersau, Switzerland.

Two lovely 250 GT Spider Californias, both long wheel base examples, S/N 1307 GT on the left and 1503 GT on the right side. No fewer than four Californias were observed during the Cavallino Classic XII.

The six-cylinder 246 GT/GTS are just real Ferrari classics, here's a line-up of yellow Dinos. Yellow is probably the best color for a 246 Dino, because it underlines and pronounces the styling and design.

Three 365 GTB/4 Berlinettas, better known as Daytonas. The car on the right side is one of the six prototypes, S/N 11795, owned by Mexican collector Arturo Keller. This example has many unusual details and was photographed for the official factory sales brochure. It was also once owned by Italian race hero Arturo Merzario.

With its very controversial styling the one-off 250 GT SWB Breadvan S/N 2819 GT was one of the highlights at this year's Cavallino Classic XII Concours. Because of its rebody from regular 250 GT SWB Scaglietti Berlinetta into the Breadvan it was not judged but on display only. Nevertheless one of the stars of the show!
