Sixteen Lancias to follow Route 66
As we reported last week, sixteen Lancia enthusiasts, driving Veteran and Vintage Lancias have announced that they will drive from Chicago to Los Angeles, following what is left of the old Route 66.
The group will be headed by the Lancia enthusiast and noted author Marcello Minerbi who says that the Lancias will start, this Friday, from Chicago on October 13th and will arrive in Santa Monica/Los Angeles October 24th afternoon-evening. Among the cars entered are a Fulvia HF Rally 1.3, a Fulvia HF 1600, an Astura cabriolet Pininfarina, an Aurelia B20 GT, an Aurelia B21 Saloon, an Aurelia B12 Saloon (driven by Massini), a Beta
Montecarlo Pininfarina, a Flavia HF 2000 coupé, a Pininfarina Flaminia spyder
3C Touring, a Flaminia berlina, and a Flaminia coupé Touring GT.
Minberi called VeloceToday from New York to say that the cars would be trailered to Chicago to start the trip. "Some, like the Astura, are really very old and
this may not be an easy trip for them." Minerbi also wanted us to make sure that we mentioned that all the tour participants are members for the Lancia Italia Club.
The group does not have a laptop with them, but they do have a cellphone. Thanks to readers of VeloceToday, the Lancia group hopes to meet with enthusiasts while in Chicago, St. Louis, Amarillo, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
If you will be in any of the following cities when the group plans to arrive, please let us know and we'll get your contact information to the group.

October 14 St.Louis to Springfield Mo.
October 15 Springfield - Tulsa Ok.

The first stage of the adventure already took place in Genoa, Italy, where the sixteen Lancias were reluctantly loaded into waiting containers. Our thanks
