Lost, Found, Help, For Sale, etc.

An odd assortment of items for your consideration.

Wanted is information about two old Fiats made at the Poughkeepsie plant which were the property of the David Katz family.

Needed is an amp gauge for a one-off Cisitalia.

Lost is the color of the rare Lancia Squadra Corse van.

Found is a suicide door Fiat 600, all original, intact, on the island of Malta. And it is for sale.

Lost, too, is the details of the Marguerite car and family, the descendants of who now live in North Carolina.

So have at it, dear readers, help where you can. Any comments, help or offers can be sent to vack@cox.net.

I have some wonderful old family photos showing Fiats built between about 1906-1911. One is of my great-grandfather, a real car enthusiast, and some of his friends when they were on a then-adventurous drive from Baltimore up to the Adirondacks. The car is one I've been able to narrow down, as best I can, to circa 1906-07. (see above photo)

In the other is my grandfather, who I did know, standing along side a 2-seater Fiat(below). On the back of the photo, he wrote "This is my 1911 Fiat before I souped it up to go racing." These were no doubt Fiats built at the Poughkeepsie NY plant, but we need help in identifying the particular models. Any help or information about the early U.S. Fiats would be greatly appreciated.

David Katz, California

Dear Sirs,
I have been trying to locate any information on the Marguerite Grand Prie race cars that was used in the race from France to Spain in the 1920's. My Great Grandfather was Fernand Loius Marguerite. My Great Grandfather and his brother and father invented and made these cars and sold them to the public. Approxiametly 250 cars were produced.

Here's a photo of the Marguerite, can readers help?

I have been unsuccesful in finding any information on the cars. I wrote VeloceToday.com in hopes to find out any information I can about my familys racing legecy. I've done so much in my life from serving my country in the military to now helping the people that live in my community but I have never been able to fill the void of not knowing or seeing anything about the Marguerite Race cars. If you decide to take an interest in helping me learn more about my family history in the racing community in the 1920's, I would be very appreciative.

Sincerely,
Christoper Brisson, North Carolina

Dear Pete,
I'm the owner of a rare 1965 Lancia Superjolly van. A Flavia derived van with a riased roof exactly like Lancia Squadra Corse used as assistance van for the Fulvia HF rally team. I wish to restore and paint mine in that exact livery but have never ever found a color picture of it. Can you help?

Very kind regards,
William van der Sman Netherlands

David Arrigo of Malta found this all together Fiat 600. Interested parties can contact us at vack@cox.net.

Richard Grenon wouyld like to find an amp gauge for a Cisitalia show car. This is the speedometer, the amp gauge would have to match the style.
