AUTOMEDON MEETING AND EXHIBITION (PARIS OCTOBER 14th-15th) In addition to the traditional Paris Salon, the Automedon old car event was held in the Bourget exhibition center near Paris, with many owner clubs and many spare parts dealers present.
What sets Automedon apart is the huge and incredible number of old car owners coming to Bourget to visit the event and show their cars in the parking areas. You can find very rare and old cars, but mainly more recent cars like Citroen, Renault and Peugeot of the 50s and 60s but also includes Italians, Germans and Americans; for us, it is perhaps even more fun than the show itself!
Yves Levasseur, the organizer of Automédon Show, bought his first car at the age of 18, a 1939 DKW cabriolet. He is a man with a strong spirit and one of the mainstays in the vintage car sector. He created Automédon in 2001. “Automédon is a sort of vast living museum since most of the cars and motorcycles on display are still working!” he says.

The red convertible is named “Cabbar” and not Gabbar. It is based on a Citroën 2CV.

4CV Renault, great car of its times : great souvenirs
***my driver’s licence original date? 13 January 1955,! on a burgundy 4CV Renault,
my licence fee was offered by Mr. Roland Touzot,, winner of the 1953 Mille Miglia with his Panhard ,my boss of that time, were, I was employed as an apprentice, working on the races cars, late every nights!
**, 1947,48,I remember distinctively a very special blue 4CV Renault coupe, named 4CV AUTOBLEU! In the dealer’s showroom, I used to stop by every day from school on my way home, it was the prototype of what became later the famous Alpine.

I remember that there was a FRUA body superb DB Panhard coupe, year 1955,one day Mr. Touzot asked me to stay during lunch complete the exchange of the front Houdaille shock obsorbers, while I was “twisting my knuckle” to secure the large 19mm ex head bolts, a very distinghish gentleman standing watching me while smoking his cigarette, when I asked who he was Mr. Touzot told me Its Mr. Carnoles!
Later, after the race Tour de France, I read the Progres local newspaper, showing Touzot
& his co driver Mr. Carnoles at the wheel
Surprise..surprise, this gentleman was His Highness Prince Rainier of Monaco, who was using a pseudo name from a small village on the Hillsides of Monaco!
great souvenirs, I have a copy of the progres newspaper in my file!
