    My 1200 Spyder did not look like this 1200 Roadster: more like the 1500 Spyder with a narrower grill. The Italian Car Club of Ottawa Museum, Joe Controneo, has one which Joe won’t let me drive. Hopelessly underpowered with malleable aluminum parts

    Let me continue this monologue by saying my 1200 may have been a ‘Spider’ but was never a speeder. The design, like that of the 1500, was by Bertone

    I am new to this fantastic website and just found this article. My understanding is that the Fiat 1200 pictured is more commonly known in the US as the Trasformabile which initially was a 1100 but then was upgraded to a 1200. The 1200 and 1500 spider you are referring to is indeed a different body style and was actually designed by Pininfarina – you can see their logo on the side just behind the front wheels.
