Milano Monza Auto show, Part 2

Bandini Dora by Giugiaro, 2020

Last week Alessandro Gerelli sent us his report on the MILANO MONZA Auto, held on 10-13 June 2021, a unique event in which spectators walked from the Piazza San Babila to the Castello Sforzesco while viewing the latest in supercars, hypercars, and regular production cars. For this second MIMO feature, we highlight a couple of the cars that seemed interesting. The first was the Pambuffetti, which is striking even among today’s hypercars.

From the MIMO website:

The Pambuffetti family mixes simplicity, ability, competence and an unbridled love for everything that is mechanical and can walk, run or fly. From their decades of experience in the production of vehicles comes the know-how for the PJ-01, a car designed, dreamed and built to bring the emotions of a single-seater to the road. A hybrid frame in structural steel and carbon, carbon fiber bodywork, V10 engine up to 820 hp and very light racing front gearbox are just some of the features that allow the PJ-01 to have a power-to-weight ratio close to 1, 3 kg/hp and develop a downforce of over 500kg already at 280 km/h.

The Karma, from California, was another:

The KARMA GS-6 is available in 3 trim levels: Standard, Luxury and Sport, rear-wheel drive, 2 electric motors that guarantee 536 HP of power and 746 n-m. GS6 allows you to go from 0-100 km/h in about 3.9 seconds and a top speed of over 210 km/h. Its unique style, the elegant and sporty design and a craftsmanship level build quality, combined with a high level of customization (such as the material and the 5 interior colors, the 13 exterior colors, rims and tires, brake caliper coloring and more).

The GS-6 comes standard with a 24/7 connected car with OTA, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a dedicated APP, 3 driving modes and 3 levels of regenerative braking (including one-pedal drive). Finally, it allows a high degree of customization of the car’s operation such as steering stiffness, brake pedal stiffness and, when desired, a true thoroughbred start thanks to Launch-Mode.

And that Bandini? According to www.topspeed.com:

GFG Style, the weirdly named company run by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, launched three new concept cars at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, including the Bandini Dora. A barchetta-style supercar that seems inspired by designs from the early 1990s, the Bandini Dora is a fully electric “hedonistic, open, two-seater car, designed for outdoor leisure.” It’s also supposed to be a nod back to the “quintessential of sports cars manufactured by Bandini in the 1950s,” even though it’s way too angular compared to vehicles from that era.
