Inaugurated exactly one hundred years ago, in October 1924, the Linas-Montlhéry autodrome was recently the scene of the Centenary Festival. Built in just six months, it was immediately the scene of numerous attempts at speed and endurance records of all kinds.
The addition in 1925 of a road section increasing its length to 12.5 kilometers made it possible to organize the Grand Prix of the A.C.F. (Automobile Club de France) there several times until the Second World War.
After the war, competitions gradually resumed from 1947 with the main races being the 1000 Kilometers of Paris and the Coupes du Salon, organized in parallel with the Paris Motor Show.

i was entered with my ’55 t-bird, which i’d driven troublefree into a friend’s garage 5 years ago after our participation in the ’19 chantilly concours. inspection discovered front suspension weaknesses; the car is stil awaiting…something. the trip was paid for so i went, hopefully. not to be. the .01% of the .01% problems. and now, since we’ve lost the importation papers into the e.u. for the car, i can’t take it out of france!
