JV Bashing
Correspondance between Erik C. Nielsen and David N. Seielstad regarding the June 25th article:1-2 Sweep and No Team Orders.
. . . . . .
Erik,
Just read your European GP report.
You can be so cruel!
Among other points well made you say Jacques is a one hit wonder. Do you think perhaps his choice of teams might have played a part?
Regards,
David N. Seielstad
. . . . . .
David:
If JV continues to run with second rate teams, he will continue to perform as a second rate driver. I'm probably just as disappointed in his performance as you are. If he wants to win another championship, he needs to go to a top team.
BMW/Williams: probably not. I think that Frank Williams is looking at
Montoya as a longer-term investment, but he is skating on thin ice.
I'm convinced that Juan-Pablo has balls the size of locomotive pistons, but he hasn't figured out how to maximize the performance of the vehicle for the
race distance. Ralf is a keeper because of his name and his nationality.
McLaren/Mercedes: DC has some races left in him, but the 2002 car is more of a development car. KR is a kid with plenty of fire on the track, and was picked up for a song. Both could be replaced, if the new driver is "compatible" with the team. This is the strongest possibility.
Ferrari: No chance. MS will get six championships then retire to be Jean Todt's replacement.
JV will never play second fiddle. He went to BAR because they built the team around him, same as Ferrari with Schumacher. Realistically,
I can't see this happening in the next couple of years. Regrettably, that
makes him a one hit wonder.
Respectfully submitted,
Erik
