Photos: Are you kidding?
Surfing through a variety of websites, we are often amazed that the people behind the sites (the about us function) are rarely described. This is annoying, particularly with the rise of so many new sites. How does one know if the information presented is accurate or valid, or merely opinion and hyperbole? Can the writers be trusted? Just who are these people, anyway?
Then we realized that our staff is not well defined either. We hereby correct that oversight.
VeloceToday exists through the efforts of four devoted staff members. VeloceToday is accurate, informative, interesting and trustworthy because our staff members are expertly and uniquely qualified individuals.
Editor: Pete Vack. Pete has been writing since 1954. His first manuscript was submitted to the Saturday Evening Post in 1958 (rejected, but the author was only 11 years old). Undeterred, Pete kept writing, and by 1984 was being published in Vintage Motorsports, Victory Lane, Car Collector, and Automobile. He continues to write for Forza magazine, and his latest article about the HWM Stovebolt was published in V45-4 of Automobile Quarterly. He is the author of the Abarth Buyer's Guide and the Illustrated Volkswagen Buyer's Guide. Pete has owned a wide variety of cars, including Lancias, Alfas, Fiats, Abarths, Bandinis, and currently owns two Ferraris.
Executive Editor: Erik Nielsen. Since 2002, Erik has written the F1 reports for our readers, gaining a wide audience who likes his snappy, irreverent style. Erik also contributes many articles about Ferraris and his experiences traveling around the globe. With a doctorate in chemical engineering, Nielsen went to work for Engelhard, the world's largest producer of catalytic converters, and is currently working in Shanghai, China. Erik owns three Ferraris and the collection is growing, much to his wife's consternation.
Managing Editor: Karen Wagoner is Erik's wife and also in China at this time. Karen is responsible for advertising, budget, emails, proofreading, backup computer whiz, and has written one (but a good one!) article for VT. She helps "put together" VeloceToday each and every week. Her job in China with a construction development firm keeps her busy but she always is there when VT needs her.
Editor at Large: Lorenzo Marchesini. Lorenzo was born in Holland of Italian parents. He grew up learning both cultures, majored in economics and went to work with the World Bank in Washington DC. Now retired, he lives in Fairfax County, with his wife and two wonderful children. Lorenzo is our Italian expert, and nothing gets by without his corrections. He is also a fine contributor to VT. In 2003, he drove his Lancia 2000 Berlina from Washington to Monterey for the Concorso event, and back. He then bought another, earlier Berlina 1500, which is in the process of detailing. In addition to two Lancias, he also owns a Ferrari 365GT 2+2.
VeloceToday also plays host to a distinguished selection of contributors, some of whom are listed in alphabetical order:

Lastly, VeloceToday is constantly on the lookout for new talent, and accepts articles and photos from those who have a story to tell and an interesting way of telling it.
