Ean McDowell
Down Under Italian Car Enthusiast
Ean McDowell, the author of "Night Drive", poses in his ASA.

Motoring interests certainly change over the years and although bought up in a family where British sporting cars were common, it was a particularly wet winter not long after starting work when Ean McDowell traded the last MG for a warm dry Fiat 850 Coupe. That was 30 years ago. He hesitates to say just how many different cars he has had-- wives do read these things--
but the Italian love affair ever since has included many examples of Fiat, Alfa, Ferrari and Lancia. His interest has usually been in the smaller engine capacities and has very definitely been pitched towards the low volume and rarer models.
Ean is involved in all forms of motoring including hands on restoration, he has had consistent success in rallies and shows, and takes part limited historic competition. He enjoys reading and writing about Italian cars and events and meeting other enthusiasts. His current stable includes a Lamborghini Miura S, Stanguellini FJ, and ASA 1000GT and his current restoration projects include a Fiat 1200 TV Spider, Moretti 750 Spider and an Alfa Giulia SS.
