Rally Sardinia in Photos

One of the most interesting aspects (and there are many) of the WRC is the fantastic photography made available via the press services of all the major players. Italian Editor Roberto Motta and I have developed a way to sort through the hundreds of images that Motta gets after each event. He will sort through and send me as many as one hundred images, and from there I’ll pick 20-30 for the article, or as in this case, articles. It is always a difficult joy to make the selections.

We don’t want to limit the images to French cars only, because the competition is fierce and the field is growing; Sardinia saw the debut of the works Mini Clubman, and VW is getting their car readied now, all while Citroen and the Ford Fiesta have been doing battle all year. The photos from BMW Media are already outstanding and many of them presented below. Our hats off to those professional photographers who achieve such great photography on a for hire basis–their names don’t even appear by their work. Guys, we know you are there and thanks for your tremendous effort and talent.

Furthermore, our friends at SpeedTV seemed to have dropped the ball on the series, and there is precious little coverage anywhere of the WRC. WRC News is one, however. http://www.wrc.com/news/ We will also continue to present the event in both English and Italian languages, and thanks to Roberto Motta for his fine efforts.

Below, a selection of the best, in no particular order. Just enjoy and be glad there is a visual alternative to F1 photography.
