August 16, 2019 saw the seventeenth year of the Quail Lodge automobile show, located in bucolic Carmel Valley, California, at the base of the Santa Lucia mountain range. Often described as a “garden party,” this is such an extraordinary event that it’s difficult for me to come up with a lead sentence to adequately describe the day.

The 11th annual edition of the Quail Motorcycle Gathering was held on May 4 on the grounds of the luxury resort Quail Lodge, in Carmel Valley, California, just east of the Carmel-Monterey peninsula.
