If the 1950s at Le Mans were exemplified by the Cunningham efforts, and the 60s by the Ford domination, the 70s, at least from an American perspective, had to belong to one Sam Posey, who plugged on every year until 1978, placing in the top ten five times driving Ferraris, BMWs and Mirage-Renaults.
