The Cost of our Passion at Bonhams

The Bonhams London auction on December 7th included about 80 cars and a great deal of memorabilia, with many books and magazines coming from the collection of George Horne. The cars were mostly English but there were a few Italian and three very rare French cars on the block.


The top seller was a 1906 Rolls Royce Light 20HP at 441500 pounds (716,996 USD) and the second a 1963 Ford Cobra at 232500 pounds (377,580 USD).

All the prices below include the buyer’s premium but exclude sales tax.

2-siata822.jpg Fiat 750 Siata of 1963 was a no seller.

3-fiat6008840.jpg Fiat 600D of 1963 in a “racing” version with sport front seats and racing wheels sold for 6325 pounds (10,295 USD).

4-aurelia8852.jpg Lancia Aurelia GT 3rd series coupe of 1953 was ready for restoration and sold for 16100 pounds (26,145 USD).

13-cgv8859.jpg CGV 20hp TC1 landaulet of 1906. Coachwork by Pingret, Gujon et Bretau. The factory was based in Puteaux by Charron, Girardot and Voigt. It sold for 32200 pounds (52,409 USD).
