With the conquest of the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship, Sébastien Loeb won his eighth straight title, and became the most successful driver in the history of motorsport.

In fact, thanks to victory in the 2011 world championship, Sébastien not only exceeds Schumacher, but also a legend on two wheels, Valentino Rossi, who has won seven world titles in MotoGP/500cc.

In 2004 Loeb won first place six times.

Loeb has participated in 151 FIA World Championship Rallys, climbing to the top step of the podium 67 times, and earned the record for the greatest number of victories in one season.

Sébastien Loeb was born February 26, 1974 in Haguenau, a section of Bas-Rhin, Alsace. Having competed as one of the best gymnasts of France, Loeb made his debut in rallying in the mid-nineties. In 1999 he won the title of ‘Champion de France des Rallyes sur Terre’ in the category ‘Car 2 wheel drive’ with a Saxo Kit-Car (Group A Citroën Saxo 3). In 2000, Sébastien joined the Citroën factory team.

In 2005 Loeb won ten times.

Together with co-driver Daniel Elena he won the FIA Cup for Drivers S1600, predecessor of the Junior World Rally Championship in 2001, with a Citroën Saxo S1600.

Sébastien made his debut in the WRC Rally of Sanremo ending in second place, while becoming part of the ‘big’ rally drivers. Since then, the fame of Sébastien Loeb, has grown with the Citroën team. In 2003, Sébastien finished the World Championship in second place, one point behind, while still allowing Citroën to win the World Constructors Championship. Then, in 2004, Sébastien won his first world title with the Citroën Xsara

Since then, he never lost the title of World Champion.

Loeb took first eight times in 2006.

Over the years, Loeb has cemented his reputation as one of the biggest names in sports history, and from his statements, seems to have no intention of hanging up his helmet. In fact, Loeb will be at the start of the FIA World Rally Championship 2012 with the intention of winning the ninth consecutive title.

The 2012 Championship kicks off with the famous Monte Carlo Rally in January.

Loeb took home another eight first place finishs for 2007.

Loeb will be the man to beat in 2012, although the FIA World Rally Championship is becoming increasingly competitive. Ford will look for revenge; the MINI has already proved a splendid reality, while VW is preparing for the attack on the World in 2013 with Sébastien Ogier.. The WRC is therefore an increasingly competitive league and followed all over the world by millions of fans. Now, the only thing missing is an Italian car!

Fifteen starts resulted in eleven victories for Loeb in 2008.

2009 saw Loeb win seven times.

Loeb garnered eight victories in 2010.

Despite keen competition from Ford, Loeb nevertheless won five times in 2011.

Thanks Robert for reminding us that Sebastien Loeb stands indisputably at the top of the FIA World Championship pyramid. FIA is not just F1.

Bravo Sebastien! May you win many more.
