And How! Alpine Photos Needed

March 13, 2018 By pete

English speaking Alpinists, worldwide, especially those of the A310, GTA, R5 Turbo persuasion:

As most of you will know over the last ten years I have written a number of Alpine books in English, for our English speaking Alpine enthusiasts around the world. Each was a labor of love and funded solely by myself. Each one has been successful.

I have now completed three unique and unusual Porsche books. However I had in mind to do one final Alpine work in English; Alpine & Renault – the GT and Turbo competition cars.

It will cover the models A310, GTA series, A610, R5 turbo and A5 Turbo. All in one work and once more it will be a first in English. Renault have given the OK, the AAA in Dieppe are on board and various notable “Alpine” men of the period are also contributing, words and pictures.

Now it is pictures that I am looking for; I like to use ones from private sources, in return of course for a thank you by name in the book. This makes the work more interesting instead seeing all those old regularly seen shots.

Might you have any photos like this one? This is the A310-V6 Calberson..

The book will, as my previous works have a competition bias, the Alpine GTs, like the berlinette were built for sport as well as long distance touring in a sporting vehicle. Of course the production cars will be covered but its the rally cars, the circuit racers and hill climb cars I am interested in.

So if you have any early photos, or even later in the retro period of the Rally, Le Mans, or Europa cup cars, I would be delighted to receive them. I need them in as high resolution as possible. Of course you will be credited. WeTransfer is a good way to send, or if it is a one off then an E mail attachment would be fine. to Roypsmith@aol.com

Kind regards

Looking forward to this book! Wish I could be of assistance, but the only photos I have are of my standard GTA…
