Story and Photos by Robert J. Neary

For the second time in a month, a great selection of Italian cars assembled on the Island of Staten on a glorious sunny day. This time it was at the invitation of Angelina of Angelina’s Italian Restaurant at 399 Ellis Street, Staten Island, home of the best Italian food on the Island! In addition to some of the wonderful cars that showed up for the Casa Belvedere event on Staten Island in September a number of new and different cars swelled the entry list at this great show. Those that made the trip were treated to perfect weather, fantastic food and drink, a magnificent array of Italian cars of all makes, models and vintages and wonderful camaraderie. Classic Coach of Elizabeth NJ brought a trio of wonderful vintage cars including a 1953 Ferrari 375 MM, a 1961 Maserati Birdcage Tipo 63 and a beautiful 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C. The “Tax Doctor” Richard Stein brought his three modern Ferraris, a brand new 599 GTO, an Enzo and a 430 Scuderia 16M… Wow, what a garage he has! These cars were joined by many rare and interesting Italian beauties pictured below.

A raffle to win this 1999 Ferrari F355 F1 Spyder was started at the event. There are 10 more tickets to sell before the drawing at $1000 each. Wouldn’t that be a great Christmas present for somebody?! Email us for details--pete@velocetoday.com

Luscious Lamborghinis. A Diablo VT shows off its top speed of 207 MPH on its license plate. To the left an electric blue Murcielago and on the right a silver Murcielago and a bright orange Gallardo.

This car will be featured in a forthcoming edition of VT. For now, this is all you get.

1961 Maserati Birdcage Tipo 63 completed the trio of vintage Italian cars brought to the event by Classic Coach.

Richard Stein’s trio of modern Ferraris get ready to leave. Notice the “Tax Dr.” license plates and “My other car is a Ferrari 599 GTO” license plate holder. Richard has a license plate holder on his 599 GTO that says my other car is a Ferrari Enzo. I think he is the only person who can legitimately wear these license plate holders on his cars!

Rare 1973 Alfa Romeo Montreal was named for the city of Montreal, Canada where it was first shown in 1967 as a Bertone styling exercise at Expo ’67. A production version was introduced in 1970 and 3917 cars were built until production ceased in 1977.
