The second round of the 2008 Australian GT Championship moved to the Adelaide street circuit during the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar meeting earlier this year.

Five Ferraris contested the event with Porsche GT3s, Lamborghini Gallardos, Dodge Viper GTS ACR, Aston Martin DBR S9 and a Lotus Elise. Allan Simonsen from the state of Victoria (430 GT3) made a clean sweep in all three races from Scott Bargwanna (New South Wales) in the Elise, with Darcy Russell (Victoria, Viper), John Teulan (Queensland, 430) and Mark Eddy (Victoria, Gallardo) each taking a third place.
Simonsen also took fastest lap in 1minute 23.2257seconds.

In the Murray Walker Extreme Machines display, behind the Pit Straight grandstand, were the 599 GTB Fiorano of Tony Raptis (Victoria) and the 430 of Malcolm Ramsay (South Australia). The display also included 4 Lamborghinis, a Konigsegg CCR, Audi R8, Ford GT, Porsche GT & 959, Spyker C8, Pagani Zonda and Bugatti Veyron with on track demonstration runs throughout the weekend.
