RM Auction in London, September 8th and 9th, 2013.

The day after the St. James Concours d’ Elegance in London, RM held an auction with many cars coming from important private collections.

The first day was dedicated to a collection of Mercedes cars, while the second day featured other brands, with a huge number of Ferrari models, mostly production cars of the 60s and 70s.

The auction was a big success with a total of sales of more than 21 million pounds (more than $33 million).

Most of the lots did not have a reserve price. Therefore many cars were sold at prices lower than the auctioneer evaluation.

The top price was reached by a Maserati 250S of 1957, coming from the Laidlaw Competition Car Collection, that sold at more than 3 million dollars. Second high price was a Ferrari 275 GTB 4 sold at about $2.5 million.

(All prices include the buyer’s premium and have been calculated using the exchange ratio 1 pound = 1.57 U.S. dollars).
