Getting to know the new VeloceToday

April 8, 2008 By pete

This article is to help our readers find their way around the new VeloceToday as effectively and quickly as possible. Just use the ‘letters to the editor’ section to help us improve the new site!!

FRONT PAGE
Every week, as usual, VeloceToday will publish two to four new features and news items. These will appear at the top of the front page (homepage), and below that there will also be a number of older stories and articles. The new stories will be identified by the most recent posting date.

COMMENTS
VeloceToday is a weekly online magazine and not a blog. However, we welcome all comments and letters, so use the Letters to the Editor section below each article to submit your opinions or corrections to a particular article.

CLASSIFIEDS
When reading the classifieds section, if you close the page in Hemmings or Ebay, you will close VeloceToday. Use the back arrow in your browers to return quickly to VeloceToday classified page. We are still working on this page as we search for new ways to present the RSS feeds for our readers.

DONATE
Use the Donate button to send your contributions to VeloceToday via credit card or Paypal. Remember that average price of print magazines is about $8 per issue. VeloceToday publishes original and exclusive articles very similar to the traditional classic car magazines but remains free to the reader. However, unless you contribute, VeloceToday will be forced to charge for our content. So, contribute and keep it free!!

SEARCH
Due to the space constraints, a limited number articles will be listed for each search item. For example, if you search with the word “Ferrari”, there may be 15 articles on Ferrari but only a few may appear. So be sure to narrow your search criteria appropriately. Use “Ferrari GTO”, “Alfa Romeo Giulia” etc.

ARCHIVE
In addition to the search function the archives provide a quick way to surf VeloceToday. More categories are added almost every week. As more topics are added, there will be further categories, Ferrari, Ferrari GTO, Ferrari GTO SII etc.

OLD ARCHIVES
Over the next few months we will be transferring hundreds of selected articles from the old VeloceToday website to the new. These stories will appear on the homepage and will also be archived. At the same time we will be adding two to four new features every week so the archive section will be growing quickly. For a period of time you can go search the old site, but it won’t be there forever!

ADVERTISEMENTS
VeloceToday now has multiple ad placements, a wide variety of sizes and shapes to fit every need. To find out more about our ad policies, please contact our Ad Manager, Cindy Meitle at cindy@carprusa.com.

SHOPPING
VeloceToday now features a shop, where our readers can purchase books, models, PDFs, and much more to come the near future. VeloceToday uses Paypal to complete the pay function. Always be sure that your Paypal shopping cart is correct and updated. To update with correct information, simply enter the number of items you wish to order and click on the “update cart” function.

LINKS
VeloceToday is always interested in adding viable links to our site. Please contact us at pete@velocetoday.com if you are interested in a links exchange.
