Global Resource for the Lancia Aurelia

September 22, 2025 By pete

Centro Aurelia Launched as Global Resource for Lancia Aurelia Enthusiasts
LONDON, UK – September 18th, 2025

On the 75th anniversary of the iconic Lancia Aurelia’s debut in 1950 a new global resource is
announced to support the preservation of this landmark 1950s Italian automobile: Centro
Aurelia.

The Centro Aurelia website will centralise and make freely available comprehensive and
currently hard-to-access technical knowledge for owners and enthusiasts of the Lancia
Aurelia car. The audience is the Aurelia community, not just in Europe, but throughout the
world, including the Americas, Australia, and Japan.

The Lancia Aurelia, renowned for its Italian style and pioneering technology, was produced in
multiple variants including Berlina (4-door saloon), Coupé, Spider, and Convertible as well as
many examples built by famous 1950s coachbuilders. In total, about 18,000 were built
between 1950 and 1958 when manufacture ended.

During its production, the Aurelia model underwent numerous technical developments, with
many changes and improvements over the years, the number of which can be confusing to
owners and users. Centro Aurelia addresses these challenges by providing comprehensive
technical information, including Paul Mayo’s Aurelia Workshop Manual, which has been so
useful to many owners and mechanics for the past fifty years. The aim is to improve and
extend this essential resource with the collaboration of the Aurelia community sharing their
knowledge through the integrated Centro Aurelia Forum – a core feature of our approach.
The website also provides a home for and access to Lancia’s original technical publications,
including rare technical sketches and data sheets (ASTs), drivers’ handbooks, spare parts
information etc.

“Centro Aurelia marks a new chapter for the passionate Aurelia community worldwide,” said a
spokesperson for Centro Aurelia. “By centralising decades of knowledge and welcoming
contributions from enthusiasts everywhere, we aim to preserve and enhance the legacy of this
remarkable vehicle for generations to come.”

The Centro Aurelia team includes:
Giovanni De Virgilio, son of Francesco De Virgilio, the Aurelia engine’s designer.
Massimo Fila Robattino, organiser of the 2020 Aurelia exhibition at MAUTO, Torino.
Geoffrey Goldberg, author of ‘Lancia and De Virgilio: at the Centre’.
