New Monterey Car Week Event Returns Italian Cars and Culture to the Fairways at Black Horse Golf Course
We are proud to announce our sponsorship of La Dolce Vita-Automobili at Black Horse. This event will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 during this year’s Monterey Car Week. Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Course has been completely upgraded and the fairways will be lined with Italian cars and vendors who offer wonderful art and Automobilia as well as other products and services of interest to car enthusiasts.
The event will have live music throughout the day along with a multitude of special guests who will give the crowd an educational overview of each wonderful Italian marque. To date, the event is being supported by a sizable number of car clubs and collectors who are excited to once again begin the annual trek to Black Horse each year during Monterey Car Week. Co-Founders Kerry McMullen and Jerry Kaye, having secured the Bayonet and Black Horse venue in August, 2008, vow to restore a “back to our roots” event for car owners and enthusiasts. Both are serious Italian car enthusiasts and no strangers to working in the Italian sports car and exotic car realm. McMullen owns three Maseratis. Kaye owns Ferraris, Maseratis, Rolls-Royce and more. McMullen owns MIE Corporation, the largest provider of Maserati parts and technical support in the world and handles Maserati Club International with 2,000 members. Kaye is a Co-Founder of the crowd-pleasing Le Belle Macchine d” Italia, a three-day Italian car festival held each year in the Poconos. La Dolce Vita Automobili at Black Horse is encouraging the preservation of admiration for cars amongst future generations. They are admitting ages 17 and under free with an adult and encouraging families to come out and learn about the cars. More info: 480 277-1864 www.ladolcevitamontereybay.com, Bayonet at Black Horse

Veloce must bite the bullet and tell us what’s going on out in Monterey this summer. We who are on the right side of the country don’t always know what’s happening when two Italian car events are announced for the same date (i.e. La Dolce Vita at Black Horse (which was formerly Concourso) and now Concourso at some unknown location. Break with the pabulum and give us the straight talk! Thanks for your great magazine.
