It is possible that this book could be mistaken for one of those dreaded coffee table books. The layout, art, style, sizes (9.75 by 12 inches) all say coffee table. The subject, Lamborghini Supercars, is one that might appear as a title on the remainder shelf at B&N.

Comment date 2015/09/16 Simon Moore: Motoring’s Sherlock Holmes Story ran March 2009 My father, Art Stump, had a bit of involvement with the Alfa at Indianapolis after the war. He also worked on other Alfas throughout his Career. After his death, I cleaned out his shop and discovered a box of pistons (that I recall him telling me about) that are marked Alfa. Wonder if they’d be of use to some one in the Alfa world? I have photos ready to go if any interest.

Yes George Stecher did the driving scenes for Darren’s character Casey Owens. These scenes were originally driven by my father (Dave MacDonald) but after his death in the ’64 Indy 500 George was called in to reshoot them. Citing sensitivity concerns Universal also removed all but one of my father’s speaking parts in the movie. Rmac

Sometimes life is rough. Like when, once a year, two of our finest photographers/reporters attend the same event. What is an editor to do? Fortunately each covers Goodwood with their very unique perspectives, even when shooting the same scene at the same time. Goodwood is home base for Jonathan Sharp, who is as addicted to WWII planes as he is to vintage cars. Therefore his comments and photos reflect this home game attitude and love of flying. For Belgium-based Hugues Vanhoolandt, he covers the sideshows with humor and photos that rarely need explanation.

Just a couple of comments:– At the Spanish GP, the last one of ’54 season, Lancia came with two iconic D50 (chassis nº 0001 and 0002), for Ascari and Villoresi respect.: they were fast but fragile and both retired early. There is a Castellotti biography titled “Un cuore rubato”, writen in Italian language, by noted historian Cesare de Agostini. Manel Baró
