Ferrari, a Special Exhibition in the Pantheon, Basel, Switzerland
The Pantheon in Basel is located in a spectacular building where privately owned vintage cars are exhibited along a circular ramp. It is a garage, a workshop, a sales and rental facility, a place to hold special events, and a lot more. According to the Pantheon site, “Stephan Musfeld has been a vintage car enthusiast since the days of his youth. So, when he happened to hear about the vacant premises formerly occupied by the Züblin repair and machinery workshop in Muttenz, the project became virtually inevitable. And thus it came about that Basle once again became Switzerland’s center for yet another theme of special interest.”
Let’s see the most significant of them.

1949 166 Spider Corsa s/n 0012 M took part to several races in Italy, including the Mille Miglia, before being rebodied as a 500 TRC lookalike and spending almost 30 years in the US. Back to Europe in the late nineties, it has now been restored to its original configuration.

The 500 TRC Spider Scaglietti s/n 0660 MDTR has spent all its racing life in the US, taking part notably to the 12 hrs of Sebring in 1957 and 1958. It resides in Switzerland since 1985 and is Ferrari Classiche certified.

1957 250 GT coupé, s/n 0693 GT, is one of the first to be bodied by Ellena and is still featuring the low roof previously seen on the Boano coupés.

One of 50 built, this 250 GT California Spider LWB, s/n 0965 GT, was first delivered in California in 1958.

1962 250 GTO s/n 3809 GT has been extensively raced (and frequently crashed) between 1962 and 1964 and is in the same German ownership since 1976.

250 LM berlinetta, s/n 5899, entered in 1964 under the Scuderia Filipinetti banner, saw Ludovico Scarfiotti and Nino Vaccarella victorious.

This car, s/n 09007, is a ‘competizione’ version of the 275 GTB berlinetta which had a long racing career in Italy and then in France. Since owned by a Swiss collector, it has been often raced in the Ferrari Historic Challenge and in the Tour Auto.
What an outstanding facility. A home worthy of the guest vehicles on display.
