RM/Sotheby’s London Auction, September 6

On September 6th, RM/Sotheby’s auction in London (not be be confused with the September 9 RM Auction in Maranello) was neither a great success nor a flop…many of the lots were sold, but others, like the white Countach above went begging.

Alessandro Gerelli attended the auction and returned with the best of the French and Italian selections below. Wrote Gerelli, “The auction had 71 lots and 38 were sold with the top price for the Enzo and very good prices for Porsche.

Ferrari 512 BBi 1983: estimate $250-300,000 sold $285,000.

De Tomaso Nuova Pantera prototype model 1999: estimate $90-120000, sold $25,200.

Lamborghini 350 GT 1966: estimate $620-670,000, not sold.

Talbot Lago T26 Record Cabriolet 1950: estimate $260-390,000, not sold.

Lancia Aurelia B20 GT Series II 1952: estimate $185-210,000, sold $212,000.

Fiat 500 Giardiniera 1962: estimate $30-37,000, sold $16,600.

Fiat 500 Minimaxi by Moretti 1971: estimate $26-33,000, sold $22,700.

Maserati 3500 GTI 1962: estimate $200-235,000, not sold.

Ferrari Enzo 2004: estimate $2.1-2.4 mln, sold $2.38 mln.

Ferrari 575 Maranello 2003: estimate $210-260,000: not sold.

Ferrari F40 1988: estimate $1.02-1.3 mln, not sold.

Ferrari 330 GTC 1968: estimate $625-690,000, not sold.

Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione 1991: estimate $53-80,000, sold $39,000.
