The Shell Ferrari Historics at Moroso, held in conjunction with the annual Cavallino event, brought out the Maserati 250F of Peter Giddings. The combination made short work of the Drum Brake Class. Todd Morici was equally dominant in the Disc Brake Group. He qualified his 512 BB/LM on pole, in front of Jim Fuchs and Chuck Wegner in identical cars.

Lawrence Stroll won the Disc Brake event in the 512 S Sunoco Ferrari.
The pre-war Alfa Romeo 8C35 Grand Prix car driven by Peter Greenfield roared but Peter Giddings in the 250 F won the Drum Brake event anyway. Lawrence Stroll in the 512 S Sunoco Ferrari won the Disc Brake class. The real winner was Richard Prince Photography, who provided the most outstanding photos of the season.

Stephen Read in his Ferrari 250 LM.
Jeff O’Neill’s Maserati is one of the lightweight models built in 1957, and raced by both Juan Fangio and Harry Schell. He did well at Infineon, placing second to the Giddings 250F in the first race of the drum brake set. Todd Morici did the same in the disc brake class with his 512 BB/LM.

F2004 test car, chassis 242, raced by Steve Bren.
Giddings and Greenfield shared the front row for the first Drum Brake race, started under imminent threat of rain. The pair of 1935 Alfas leading the field was a picture rarely seen since the 1930s. Spectators were also treated to the sights and sounds — particularly the sounds — of a half-dozen Ferrari Formula One cars from the recent past.
