Transatlantic Style at the Blackhawk

This year, the Blackhawk Museum in Danville California, along with the Museo Dell’Automobile di Torino, collaborated on a presentation of postwar classic automobiles that depict the crossroads of American and Italian design in the 1950s and 60s.

Correspondent Brandes Elitch has previously written about the exhibit at the Museo Dell’ Automobile di Torino (read review), which ran until June 25th. Now, it is Blackhawk’s turn to look at the fascinating subject of Italian and American automotive design in the postwar period. The Blackhawk’s exhibit is “A Romance of Fins and Chrome,” or subtitled, “Jet-age Cars that Forever Changed Modern Automotive Design.” It opened on June 8 and will run through September 30. A Decade of Danville Delights

The Danville Concours d’Elegance was held on Sunday, September 21st celebrating its milestone 10th annual event at historic downtown Danville, California in the San Francisco Bay area.

Many of the efforts for this concours directly benefited the Michael J. Fox Foundation and the Parkinson’s Institute for the advancement of its research and patient care. With a goal to “Stop Parkinson’s in its tracks,” the committee and volunteers have successfully raised over 2 million dollars for this worthy cause. [Read more…] about A Decade of Danville Delights

Egads! Why is a Chinese car featured in our French and Italian classic car magazine?

First of all, it is a fascinating and important collectible. Second, it is the first classic legally imported to the U.S. from China. Third, Don Williams of the Blackhawk Collection has spent years making this event happen. Lastly, and most important to our readers with classic cars, Williams thinks that by cultivating such trades with the vast and still growing Chinese market, there may be potential for increased sales of classic cars to China.
