As a consequence of the financial reorganization of Bertone, the liquidators of the Bertone Museum offered six of the most original, thought provoking and classic Italian concept cars ever made. These wonderful cars were auctioned by RM at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Italy, 21st May, 2011.

RM Sotheby’s Auction, Villa Erba May 25th 2019
The RM Auction featured 69 items on sale with 46 sold for a total of about 19.8 million euro.
The top prices were a Ferrari 500 Mondial of 1954 for 3.7 mln euros, a 1957 Porsche 550 Spyder for 3.4 mln euros, an Aston Martin Volante of 1965 for 1.8 mln euros and a Fiat 8V coupè for about 1.8 mln euros.

RM Sotheby’s at Milano Auctoclassica, November 25-27 2016
An auction with 400 cars plus many motorbikes and bikes, plus few boats, engines, parts, signs, etc, is quite an event!
All the cars were presented without any reserve and with very reasonable estimates.(In fact the estimates must have been on the very conservative side). The success of the event was very great and everything was sold and, speaking about the cars, only around twenty have been sold below the maximum of the estimate. RM Auction in London, September 8th and 9th, 2013.
The day after the St. James Concours d’ Elegance in London, RM held an auction with many cars coming from important private collections.
The first day was dedicated to a collection of Mercedes cars, while the second day featured other brands, with a huge number of Ferrari models, mostly production cars of the 60s and 70s.

Monster though it may be, the C4 Wyss paid $19,000 for is now worth about $150,000.
The man’s wife, an actress who looked Scandinavian, called it “The Monster.”
“You’ve come for the Monster,” she said.
“Yes, I have,” I said, while trying to figure out why she would call one of Pininfarina’s most beautiful Ferraris–the GTC/4– “The Monster.”
I say “most beautiful” but the Italians, with their ever more refined eyes for body shapes (both women and cars) called it “the hunchback with clown lips” because it had an ever so slight rise to the center of the rear deck lid, and up front there was a rubber bumper surround. Neither feature hurt the car’s looks but you know the Italians. They wanted things just right or they would find something to criticize.
I found out later on, once I took the car, it ate money. It wasn’t the cookie monster, but the money monster.
Piero Ferrari sits in the record breaking Testa Rossa.
