Auction for Hellé Nice. One of our favorite projects, as Sheryl Greene continues to go forward with a grave marker for the famous Bugatti and Alfa driver of the thirties. She has now obtained some interesting paintings and lithos of Nice in the Bugatti, now up for bid. Please visit Ebay (keyword search for Hellé Nice and motorsports ) to see the pieces, and bid on those you would like to own. There are a total of 5 pieces available. 100% of the proceeds go to creating and placing the grave marker for Hellé Nice.

Our old Alfa finds a new home for---$39,780. We don’t know who the buyer is, but the seller was the same Long Island collector who also let go of our old Abarth and at the same Bonhams Auction last Sunday. I recall trying to sell this immaculate Alfa 1300 Normale in the mid 1990s for $9000 but it wouldn’t sell. We are glad to see that the prices now reflect the true value the Alfa Giuliettas. Our old Abarth 750 Zagato found a new home $91,260 at the Bonhams Auction last Sunday, and it was bought by VeloceToday contributor and Etceterini enthusiast Alex Vazeos. A Long Island collector bought the Abarth from us a long, long, long time ago, finished the restoration and finally let it go. It went to a good home--both times! Photo courtesy Bonhams.

We have helped find an Abarth for Greek collector Alex Vazeos, and now another famous Etceterini is for sale--Jack Reuter is parting with his immaculate DOHC Bandini. These types of cars are obviously still on the upside of the price curve, so get it before it’s gone.

Still no takers on the Lancia Mystery car. True, it may be a one-off homebuilt special but there seems to be more there than just that. Maybe someone out there can make the 1955 Berlin connection?

Thank you for your support of the foundation! Your support has become a catalyst for raising funds for the marker. I would like for everyone to know that the 2 original pieces (there are 2 originals and 3 lithograph prints) up for auction are from one of your readers/subscribers in Portugal, F. Miguel Alves. He was so inspired by the stories that you have put on Veloce Today about the Foundation, he did these pastel and pencil originals and sent to me to help raise money for Helle’s marker!
Thank you so much for your support and for those that read VT!
