There were other Italian brands at Geneva, Fiat the most important. Like Alfa Romeo, Fiat, under the leadership of Luca di Montezemolo and an aggressive role out of new models, has survived the crisis years of personnel reduction and closure of factories. And, the Grande Punto introduced in 2005 has received important international acknowledgements and excellent sale success.
Lamborghini displayed its complete range including the Gallardo and Murcielago in both coupe and spider forms. Their V10 and V12 engines are really very impressive.
Looking to other Italians, we cannot forget Pagani, with its traditional Zonda model, using V12 Mercedes engines and a very masculine body in both coupe and spider versions.
Last but not least, looking around in the exhibition hall, I found the Sbarro stand, where a very original Alfa Romeo was being presented. The engine is in the back and the body looks much like the Tipo 33 Stradale of many years ago (see VT of last week). These exercises show how certain bodies are always up to date and will never grow old.

Sbarro's very attractive Alfa, appropriately named the Diva.

The Diva recalls the Tipo 33 Stradale, Alfa's road version of the racing T33/2.

Zonda--very fast, very rare, powered by the Mercedes V-12.
