Mugello

The big Ferrari event at Mugello, together with the finals of the 360 and Maserati challenges, included in its program a final event for the Historic Challenge.

Sixty-seven cars were present, coming mainly from Europe: the largest number of cars were entered in the races of grid B and C, and the noise of the cars amplified by the surrounding hills was fantastic.

Together with the well known Ferrari and Maserati sport cars, it was possible to see in the grid C two wonderful Ferraris, the California of Gary Parson and Paul Pappalardo, and the 330 LM of Eric Heerema.

As usual there were winners and losers, but I believe that for all the participants what was really important was to be there together with all the other Challenge and F1 drivers, the Ferrari team managers and engineers, to celebrate the success of Ferrari and Maserati.

Both the grid A races were won by Thomas Bscher (Maserati 250F), while Irvine Laidlaw won the grid B races with his Maserati 250S and Patrick Stieger's Ferrari 512M won the grid C event. And finally. . . see you again in 2004 !
