Palm Beach, that exclusive resort for the ultra rich and super chic, provides an appropro setting for the yearly Cavallino event. As usual, there were the most extravagant Ferraris in the world, surrounded by beautiful people, and this year the weather cooperated throughout the entire six day event.

Peter Sachs, Ed and Leslie Davis, Jack Thomas, Jon Shirley, John Mozart and Charles Arnott were among the collectors who brought their Ferraris to the event. Every year the event grows larger, and longer. With the addition of the exciting racing at Moroso, Cavallino has taken on more and more activities. This means more social activities as well, which now include a tour of Palm Beach, a yacht hop, and a jet reception. Those with prop only planes need not apply.

The main attraction, however, remains Saturday's Concours, held in front of the classic Breakers hotel. This year, Ferrari displayed the new 612 Scaglietti and the Maserati Quattroporte alongside the many judged entries which comprised the main show. Saturday evening was reserved for a very formal cocktail party, and a huge reception at which over 500 Ferrari enthusiasts attended. The prize-giving goes on until the wee hours and everyone stays until the end.

On Sunday, Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, located just south of the Breakers, hosted a charity brunch. Spectators were allowed to choose their own Concours winner--which was awarded to Mr. Harlan Schwartz for his Alfa Romeo Zagato.
