We don't often run stories on Lamborghinis. There is no particular reason
for this--and it is something we'd like to rectify.
Richard Solomon, Chairman of the Eastern Region
Lamborghini Club America (telephone 212-223-9545)http://www.lamborghiniclubeast.com.
contacted us and asked if we'd run a preview of an unusual event to
take place this coming weekend. Yes, we'd be glad to, and hopefully one or two
of the participants will provide us a report and photos of the event, which
we will share with you.
The board of the Lamborghini Club America, Eastern Region, has organized and is leading caravans of exotic cars leaving from various locales: Leaving from New York City led by Richard Solomon, arrive at 7:15am at Manhattan Motorcars in Lower Manhattan, and plan to leave no later than 8:00am.
Leaving from Connecticut led by Eduardo Menascé, arrive at 7:45am at Miller Motors in Greenwich, CT, and plan to leave no later than 8:30am.
We are planning to leave from several other designated departure points to be determined soon (a second location in CT, in NJ, and the Hudson Valley in NY State). Each stream of cars will be led by a board or club member, possibly linking up at a central location, or driving directly to the Auto Test Facility in East Haddam, CT.
The Running of the Bulls East will be
open to other exotics as well as Lamborghinis.

This a multi-marque event and we welcome all exotic car enthusiasts, including members of The Maserati Club, Lancia Club, NSX Club, Lotus Club, Ferrari Club, Porsche Club, Lamborghini Owners Club, and any and all individuals that own a true exotic car.
This will be an opportunity for all exotic car owners to spend the day driving their cars in the company of like-minded individuals to the Consumer Reports Auto Test Facility, an automotive landmark in the heart of scenic New England.
Upon arrival, we will park at the Testing Facility, meet and greet our colleagues and hosts, and listen to a presentation by our hosts, David Champion, Douglas Love, and Martin Kagan. They will give us an overview of the Testing Facility, it’s history, and the individual tests to be demonstrated.

After a break for lunch, simultaneously designated judges will choose winners of an informal Concours d’Elegance. The participants will then move directly into the testing facility grounds, and for the rest of the day they will experience the testing track first-hand, riding with skilled auto engineers in one of various new cars provided by the testing facility. Participants may sample the vehicle handling circuit, the main straight for testing acceleration, braking, and emergency handling, the specially-prepared surfaces for testing vehicle noise, anti-lock brakes, and tires, the 1.5 mile ride evaluation course, and skid pad test. Each participant will be a passenger and be accompanied by a testing facility professional.
