Brouwer and the Ennstal Classic

Story and Photos by Henk Brouwer ('nJoy Photography)

Scroll down for 25 Images in photo gallery.

This year's Ennstal Classic was held on July 27 – 30. The organisers Michael Glöckner and Helmut Zwickl continued in setting new standards for the European veteran car scene using their philosophic statement "Motoring in the Last Paradise". Start and finish are -as usual- located in Gröbming, a small picturesque town with a population of 2500 in the middle of Austria and a very charming mayor.

Celebrities like Sir Stirling Moss (and Lady Susie Moss), John Surtees, Emerson Fittipaldi, Gerhard Berger, Christian Klien, Jochen Mass, Mike Thackwell (with an awesome Chrysler 300), Franz Wurz and Rauno Aaltonen... and special guest this year was Rowin Atkinson, who drove his Jaguar Mark VII with John Foster as a co-driver. Who of these guys needs an introduction...? (Yes, Rowin Atkinson, who is a rabid car nut, comedian, and better known as Mr. Bean.)

And of course the Ferraris. Grouped together in the below portfolio are just some of the 18 Ferraris which participated in this year's event.

A very early Touring bodied 166 Inter enjoys the Ennstal Classic. Nico Koel is listed as entrant. The following image is the same car at other photography points.

The lead shot to our story and the ones below are various views of the 166 MM Touring Barchetta entered by Michael Trosser.
