Fifty three (53) years ago the Geneva Auto Show, the "New" Fiat 1100 was introduced to replace the older 1100E series. Despite the fact that the new engine featured the same displacement, bore and stroke, it was entirely new, as was the unit-frame body and chassis.

Here we have a photo of a circa 1954-55 Fiat 1100-103 taken last month in the small town of Ferrara, Italy, by our roving correspondent Mario Marchesini.
The Fiat 1100-103 was similar to the Lancia Appia, but with less of an engineering degree. However, the 1100 was a sturdy engine which would respond nicely to
a couple of sidedraft Webers. The engine would also be used in the first Formula Juniors.

The lady who owns this Fiat is probably not interested in the Formula Junior link. The Fiat is over a half century old and appears to be in very good
condition and it is likely she has owned it since new.
