The Right Prescription
Forza, Cavallino, Classic and Sportscar, Octane, and Automobile Quarterly are all great publications serving to alleviate the itch for car knowledge and cure what ails the rabid enthusiast. But for the die hard Italian car nut, the prescriptions lack potency. The shelves sag under the weight of magazines which don’t quite mend the patient.
But there exists the proper prescription for the ailment; a British magazine called AutoItalia, which is absolutely essential for the Italian car enthusiast.
This superb monthly has been around for many years (current issue in number 109) but not generally available in the United States. It is designed specifically to appeal to those interested specifically in Italian cars and is the only English speaking print magazine devoted solely to the subject.
Colorfully Potent
The creation of Phil Ward and Peter Collins, who are both Italian car nuts as well as good writers and photographers, AutoItalia has gone from strength to strength and is now a large (12x9 inches) glossy magazine.
Editor Ward takes advantage of the large format and excellent color processing, using full page color photos throughout the pages. The artwork and layout are superb, contrasted by historical black and white photos where relevant. With an average of 100 pages in length, the magazine is still center stapled, allowing full bleed centerspreads and a lot of splash.
This is what you'll see in every issue of AutoItalia--bold, outstanding photography of our favorite subjects.
