We present, a bit late perhaps, Jonathan Sharp’s view of this year’s Goodwood Revival. While his cohort Hugues Vanhoolandt did trackside photos, Jonathan concentrated on the people and the paddock area. Always so much to photograph, yet so little time and space. But enjoy, everyone below did!-Ed.

There are thousands of scenes to photograph at the Revival and we apologize for publishing so many seemingly endless images in this article. However, the Goodwood Revival comes only once a year and while in some respects is the same (the venue, the races, many of the cars) every year there will be something decidedly different which will make me go ‘Wow!’

Ten years after my first visit, my enthusiasm is still at the highest point when comes to the Goodwood Revival. This event remains unique as it combines the thrill of racing on an old style circuit with a stylish atmosphere thanks to the period dress code.

Sometimes life is rough. Like when, once a year, two of our finest photographers/reporters attend the same event. What is an editor to do? Fortunately each covers Goodwood with their very unique perspectives, even when shooting the same scene at the same time. Goodwood is home base for Jonathan Sharp, who is as addicted to WWII planes as he is to vintage cars. Therefore his comments and photos reflect this home game attitude and love of flying. For Belgium-based Hugues Vanhoolandt, he covers the sideshows with humor and photos that rarely need explanation.
