BANDINI

Pete
What can I say. You da' man. This is racing history as never seen before.

Michael Lynch

Pete,
Oh my gosh. It's really, really great. I really like the lay out. Another great big Thank You! Tears just well up in my eyes when I read the article and see his pictures. This will make all of dad's grandkids so proud of him. Everyone! I think I have said that a dozen times already. This is just so wonderful.

I still wake up thinking he's still around then have that realization he's gone. We really do miss him terribly. I know in my heart he's been guiding and helping us all along the way. I am so glad that you pulled Cliff, Jack, Me and my brothers together. After seeing the photos of Cliff and Jack's Bandini's I knew dad's car had a chance at a new life.

Mary E. Kuly

Pete,
Just a note of thanks. My mom's brother was Clair E. Reuter, and until my Uncle Sonny\' s death, I knew very little about this important part of family history.....It is because of Uncle Sonny\'s racing that my parents met, dated, married, and then had three daughters, of which I am the oldest.

Laura Jerbi

Hi Pete,
Found the Bandini story very touching and interesting. Could THIS be the car? (Yes, ed.) This was taken at the service station we were both using as a race shop before Bridgehampton in 1952. Chuck Hassan had just gotten this Bandini and Beau Clerke had set it up. Beau also gave us (my late brother, Charles F. Irish, Jr., or Bud or Chuck, as we called him) and myself a hand with the Kieft-Norton I'd just picked up at the dock in New York, left the crate at Tony Pompeo's warehouse and hauled out to Long Island. That is my brother standing beside Chuck's Bandini. By the way, the fender brackets on the cycle fenders were so light that one had fractured ON THE TRAILER! The material was not obtained from Cinzano signs, more likely Campbell soup cans (or possibly left over C ration cans?) Keep up the good work.

Dick Irish

Dear readers will see this photo and more, soon in VeloceToday.

FIAT BALILLA

Ciao Pete!
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your article on the Fiat Ballila Berlinetta. I am just blown away by the car and your entertainingly brilliant prose. These are the kind of things I point to when the cars of our club Fiat-Lancia Unlimited members are laughed at and ridiculed. Fiat does, indeed, have a rich and wonderful history. Thanks for keeping that in the forefront of enthusiasts' minds. I hope that one of our members can see, photograph, and write about the car when it appears at Amelia Island in March.

Bobb Rayner, "The Fiat Freak"

Hi Pete:
Just wanted to let you know I enjoyed the piece in Veloce Today on the Fiat Balilla, especially the picture of the car at the end of the article showing a Boano coupe in the background. This picture had to have been taken at Dennis Machul's house in Oak Brook, Ill., and the Boano is s/n 0669 GT. I remember seeing the Fiat in the late 1990s after Dennis got it. It was at Skip McCabe's shop in Mundelein, Illinois, for bodywork and paint. A really neat little machine!

THE RED DREAM

Dear Sirs, The book has just been ordered, I'm already salivating!

RUBI SAT HERE

Very enjoyable story about an interesting person and an interesting car. Good job Pete!

Jeff Allison

ISO LELE

Dear Sirs,
Your article on Jack Dunn and his Lele was nice. Thank you. My wife and I think so much of the Dunn family. Jack, my wife Sahlee and myself went to the 2001 Le Belle Macchine d'Italia together. I took the photo of Jack and Piero Rivolta together. I also took photos of Piero Rivolta signing the dash (I can even tell you how Jack came up with the idea!). Piero Rivolta had brought a concept car built in the 60's that was very impressive. I believe I have several photos of the car and photos of Jack sitting in the drivers seat. Hope you have a great day!

OUR ADS WORK

Hi Pete,
You were quick off the mark!!, Thank you. There is already a local inquiry. My website, general, is www.nectarbrook.com and there is, by a link, www.nectarbrook.com/fiat1500e with a list of spares and more photos.

ALFA SZ and TZ

Pete,
I enjoyed reading the write up on Marcello Minerbi's book on Alfa Zagatos and the story on the author. I want to order a copy of the book, but do you know when the new one will be available? If not, can you forward the author's email address so I can ask him. I found copies of the 1st edition, but I would rather have the color version.

Dave Anderson
