Etceteras, Etceteras
I read with interest the comments and "coined phrase" attributed to Stu Schaller, 'etceterinies'.
Although it is sometimes difficult to ascertain the originator of any particular wordage, I am quite
certain that the author of this phrase is not Stu Schaller but rather, John de Boer of Walnut Creek
California.
John and his father, Jarl, have raced, restored many Italian small car marques since
the earliest of racing days. John has authored several books and is known as a clever word
player. His first edition of the "Registry of Italian Oddities" aka "The Etceterini Register" was
published in December of 1982, when John was a mere 25 years old.The current book editions are
entitled The Italian Car Registry or IICAR, The International Italian Car Registry. His knowledge,
devotion and obsession with data regarding Italian 'etceterini' are known and respected worldwide.
Hence, the author should be given credit where credit is due and not to enthusiasts whom are
known to use coined phrases.

Dear Sig.Oberti:
John and Jarl DeBoer are both friends. John and I have had a long time friendly disagreement as to which of us created the word "etceterini". It really does not matter to me, as it now has general acceptance as a generic term, meaning small-displacement sports and racing cars from Italy.

Erik Again
Loved Erik Nielsen's description of the boredom that is NASCAR. OK, he was using it to compare the Hungarian GP to, but it's nice to see that other folks don’t buy the hype that NASCAR is "exciting" or even racing. Anyhow, though I'll usually disagree with Mr. Nielsen's views on Juan Montoya, he always writes an interesting report that is a good read.
On another note I like the idea of Veloce Today including some coverage of the French cars you mentioned, such as Bugatti, Talbot and such. It’d be interesting to see something on Delage as well.
Keep up the good work!

And Again
I enjoyed very much the spirit of Eric Nielsen and the Hungarian GP, as well as the Rick Carey comments. Yes, I think you could go to the Bugatti, Delahaye, Talbot, Gordini in the future: that would be a very good idea.
It’s incredible we haven’t met yet, but maybe at the Rockville show? Anyway, I understand that next year is to be the Bugatti year at PB, so, I’ll make everything to be there.
Keep the good work running!
Best regards,
