Story by Brandes Elitch, photos by Kenyon Wills
This is the 39th year of the All Italian Day Car and Motorcycle Show in Alameda, California, just a few miles east of Oakland. It was held on October 11, 2026 and was sponsored by the Alfa Romeo Association (ARA), which is based in San Francisco. The club was founded way back in 1960.
The club puts out one of the best and most comprehensive monthly magazines of any car club, called Overheard Cams. It is edited by Bob Goldberg, whose work you have seen at VeloceToday before, including his world class photography at Pebble Beach a few months ago. (Click here for and interview with Goldberg.) When you check out the website, you will see information about multiple areas: engine management, carbs and fuel systems, drivetrains, suspension, electrical, bodywork, and 3 columns on newer cars.
If you have an Alfa (and if not, why not?) you will need to join this group. As you might know, euphemistically, ALFA stands for “Always Looking for Another.”
Despite being put on by an Alfa club, this event welcomed all Italian cars, making for a very nice variety for those who attended. All proceeds from this show go to the Special Olympics of Northern California, a worthy cause.
Our photographer Kenyon Wills covered the show for us, and here are his pictures. It is interesting to note the differences between the recent Simply Italian car day in the UK and this, in the U.S.
